So I've booked my flight to Spain as well as my return trip. I leave Houston on September 14th at 10am, making a pit stop first in Charlotte and then hopping over to Philadelphia before taking off for Madrid. I'll get there on the morning of the 15th. I'll be coming home on July 4th.
I couldn't help but notice the interesting dates. I'll be arriving in the country that colonized the land of my ancestors 200 years to the very day that they began planning their revolt and uttered their battle cry, the Grito de Dolores. I'll be returning to my birthplace on the day the Founding Fathers adopted the Declaration of Independence. It's somehow all rather fitting.
Anyway, it looks like I'll be adding this to my calendar now! :)
