I recently opened a Spanish bank account, and here I guess they just give you what’s called a libreta instead of a debit card. It’s like a little booklet, about the size of a passport, with a magnetic stripe on one side. Anyway, after work I made like five attempts to use it at the ATM before I realized that each time I was doing it incorrectly. Essentially, I feel like a fool. (In my defense, though, the cajero automático didn’t have any instructions.) But, now I know how it works -- cheers to life’s small victories!
