The rest of my week :x

So, as I said I would post, here's a very brief summary of what else I did at work..!

Wednesday was a weird day, because instead of there being classes like usual, the kids went on a field trip, so there was kind of no point to me being at school. I just whiled away the hours doing busy work, and I guess this means I have to post about a normal Wednesday at some point in the future.

Yesterday I worked with a group of seven second-graders during their science period, then one-on-one with them practicing how to answer the questions they'll have on their oral exam at the end of the year. In the afternoon I spent one-on-one time with some of the third-graders doing two online activities (coloring a monster and playing a classroom vocabulary matching game).

Today I worked again with the second-graders on prepping them for their exam (I'll be doing a lot of that in the coming months, it seems), and then after their recess/my coffee break, I was with them again, working with groups of three on going over how to describe an animal (vertebrate v. invertebrate, color, size, etc.). In the afternoon, I again worked with some third-graders doing the same online activities as on Thursday.

It's really all quite thrilling. (Sarcasm.) But in all seriousness, there are those tiny rewarding moments that make it definitely worth. Like at one point I asked this girl who her favorite teacher was, and she said, "Krystal!" It was so sweet. It's not like I'm the person giving out the grades, so I think it was sincere. But even if it wasn't, I can at least pretend it was, haha. Anyway, I survived my first week back! Let's hope the next 24 go by just as quickly!
