So last weekend I visited my former roommate HZ in London. It was quite fun ^_^ Hanging out with a close friend was probably the best part, but other highlights included:
-Visiting Hampton Court (palace where King Henry VIII lived, for those of you reading this that live under a rock)
-Sampling rhubarb ice cream for the first time
-Trying a "Black Cat" (cocktail made with vodka, cherry brandy, cranberry juice, and Coke... It might sound weird, but I promise it was delicious)
-Eating amazing roti and potato masala at Brick Lane Market
-Seeing fantastic artwork at The National Gallery, but most especially van Gogh's Sunflowers
-Going to the National Portrait Gallery (Tennyson is such a hottie)
-Walking by 10 Downing Street, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, and other such famous landmarks
-Checking out the Rosetta Stone and other super cool artifacts at the British Museum
-Dancing for four hours at Bar Rumba
-Having a fantastic brownie at Old Spitalfields Market
-Discovering chilli cheese bites at Burger King (not available in the U.S. or Spain, apparently..?)
-Learning about "scrumpy" (cider) and "Pimm's & Lemonade" (pre-mixed gin concoction that comes in a can)
The only real downside was the exchange rate... I tried not to think about it too much because it was kind of a downer. Oh, and the only other lame moment was when I was told that I looked like I was 23-years-old by some random British dude. Other than that, it was terrific! Can't wait to continue the good times in April! Spring Break, baby!!! Lapith and Centaur heads, here we come!
