Madrid adventures

So last Thursday afternoon I went into the city to meet up with my former roommate HZ. We went to this little place near her hotel and had some chocolate con churros. It was pretty delicious :) And it was nice catching up with an old friend! In fact, on Friday I visited again. We went shopping in the early evening, and then later we tried to scope out the nightlife scene, but unfortunately there weren't really any clubs that were poppin'. Maybe we just didn't know where to look. It was a fun time overall, but mostly uneventful, although I did encounter a Spaniard who asked me where I was from, and when I replied, "Texas," he said, "Oh, George Bush, bad," and gave me two thumbs down. Instead of trying to explain that W. is actually from Connecticut, I just walked away. He had also inquired earlier about my age, which I told him I didn't want to discuss, and so he replied, "Why? Are you 25?" He was just a rude character... Alas, perhaps calling my weekend experiences "adventures" was an overstatement, haha.
