This group sang "Jingle Bells."
This group sang "Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town."
They didn't sound too bad, although there were definitely some errors, but no one probably noticed.
Ultimately, the process taught me a couple of things. My new-found belief that English is kind of a crazy language was reinforced, haha. For instance, what explanation is there for why a lot of times the letters "gh" don't actually make a sound (as in the case of "sleigh" or "naughty")? I also had a bit of an insight into why parents enjoy watching their children at these type of performances. When the first graders were acting out their little skits and whatnot, I was so bored and really just not excited. But then when it was "my" kids' turn, I was super invested, and it made me so proud to see them up there. Like, it was sort of a reflection of me and the effort I had put in, you know?
Well, I guess that's it for now. I'll try harder from now on to better report about what I'm up to at my j-o-b ;p
