So today was pretty slow. In the AM Laura (my fellow auxiliar) and I got to work with some of the third graders -- basically just reviewing some of the stuff they had learned last year, like saying their names and age and talking about their siblings and whatnot. Some of the kids were clearly shy or had forgotten the vocabulary. One child replied, "Fine, thanks, and you?" when I said, "Good morning," so apparently they've memorized some rote sentences without really attaching context to them. Alas, hopefully we can make some progress by the end of the year.
In the afternoon after our coffee break, Laura and I just looked through the resources the school has (books, etc.), and that was that. We’re not going to have our finalized schedules supposedly until next week, therefore I don’t think I’ll be doing a whole lot until then. Oh well.
